Pokerstars.com tries for new record

One of the largest online poker rooms, pokerstars.com, announced recently that it will attempt to set yet another world record for the largest registered field for an online poker event.

This event will run on the afternoon of December 28th and will have a max player cap of 35,000. If this cap is reached it will break the old record and hold the title of the largest online poker tournament. Pokerstar.com set a record last year with a similiar event where 20.000 entrants battled for the 1st prize of $20,000, eventally taken down by “Lynna1″

Pokerstars is using a low buy-in of just $11 with a guaranteed pool of $50,000 to attract players to this new record. A tournament this large will have up to 3000 tables running, Blinds are slated to be a the uber fast level of 10 mins.
